Do medications for ADHD cure ADHD? The medications for ADHD are administered by the doctor to control the symptoms and not to cure ADHD. The Adhd Symptoms are well controlled by the medication as long as they are taken correctly. There have been claims that these medications also help the Adhd Children when it comes to their academic skills. However, no strong proof has been given whether these speculations are really true or not.
On the other hand, be aware as well that there are other aids for ADHD. There are behavioral therapies, counseling, and convenient help and support that can definitely help those Children With Adhd. These therapies not only help the ADHD children, but the families, and teachers as well. According to the research that was funded by the NIMH or the National Institute of Mental Health, the right and amount of dosage of medication given by the doctor with the combined and regular monitored treatment shows good results on ADHD patients.

Here are the several different types of medications that can be used to treat ADHD:
1. Stimulants. This type of medication for treating ADHD is being used for already a long time. The dosage given varies on the doctor’s prescription. There are cases that the patient takes many doses a day that lasts every 4 hours; some even lasts up to 12 hours. This medication is also known to be the best Treatment For Adhd.
Nevertheless, every medication has corresponding side effects. Probable side effects in taking stimulants are irritability, insomnia, loss of appetite, and stomachache. So make sure to consult and inform your doctor as soon as negative results were shown especially hypersensitivity.
2. Nonstimulants. This type of medication for ADHD is said to have the fewer side effects compared to the stimulant medications. The affectivity also lasts up to 24 hours. 3. Antidepressants. It is inevitable that ADHD will feel depression. If this depression will not be controlled, it can lead to deeper mental illness and may also be the cause of anxiety attacks. Other researches also revealed negative side effects on this medication because according to the warning of U.S. Food and Drug Administration or FDA last 2004, these medications may possibly lead to a rare high probability of suicide among teens and even children.
A doctor’s advice in giving these types of medications is a must because the risks and important concerns must be discussed for ADHD patients.
